Overview

ZUFF FireBorder is designed for fast, scalable deployment to create a temporary wildfire prevention barrier.

This guide outlines how to prepare, mix, and apply the product to achieve maximum protection and performance.

Before You Start

1. Ensure correct conditions for application

  • Apply in dry weather conditions

  • Avoid application during rainfall or high wind

  • Ensure surface visibility and access to target areas

2. Recommended equipment

  • Backpack sprayer

  • Pump sprayer

  • Vehicle mounted spray systems

  • Standard agricultural or industrial spray units

3. Personal preparation

  • Wear standard protective clothing

  • Gloves and eye protection recommended

  • Ensure safe handling and controlled application

STEP 1

Site Preparation

Identify protection zones Focus on high risk ignition areas:

  • Dry vegetation

  • Grass lines

  • Fence perimeters

  • Structures and asset boundaries

  • Utility corridors

Prepare the surface

  • Remove excessive debris where possible

  • Ensure product can contact vegetation and ground layer

  • Do not oversaturate or flood area before application

Goal

  • Create a clear, continuous treatment path

STEP 2

Mixing

ZUFF FireBorder is supplied in concentrated or ready format depending on deployment.

Dilution

  • Dilute with water as required for your spray system

  • Follow recommended ratio based on equipment and coverage needs

Mixing process

  • Add water first

  • Introduce ZUFF solution gradually

  • Agitate to ensure even consistency

Important

  • Maintain light agitation during application

  • Ensure mixture remains uniform

STEP 3

Application

Apply directly to target areas.

Spray evenly across:

  • Vegetation

  • Grass

  • Soil surface

  • Perimeter zones

Application method

  • Create a continuous barrier line

  • Avoid gaps or untreated sections

  • Apply consistent coverage without runoff

Coverage guidance

  • Focus on outer perimeter first

  • Reinforce high risk ignition zones

  • Overlap spray lines slightly to ensure full coverage

Goal

  • Form a visible treated zone that acts as a firebreak

STEP 4

Drying And Activation

After application

  • Allow treated areas to dry naturally

  • Avoid disturbance during drying phase

Activation

  • Product becomes active once bonded to vegetation and surface

  • Creates a protective barrier that resists ignition

Performance

  • Effective for up to 30 days depending on environmental conditions

STEP 5

Maintenance And Reapplication

Monitor treated areas regularly.

Reapply if:

  • Heavy rainfall occurs

  • Vegetation regrows

  • Barrier is physically disrupted

  • Extended exposure beyond protection window

Best practice

  • Maintain continuous perimeter integrity

  • Schedule reapplication during high risk periods

Deployment Types

Residential

  • Apply around property boundary

  • Focus on fences, driveways, and vegetation edges

Utilities

  • Apply along power lines and infrastructure corridors

  • Protect high ignition risk zones

Forestry and land

  • Create controlled firebreak lines

  • Apply across large scale vegetation areas

Industrial

  • Protect storage yards, buildings, and perimeter zones

Safety And Environment

  • PFAS free formulation

  • Non toxic when used as directed

  • Safe for vegetation and surrounding environments

  • Avoid direct contamination of water sources

  • Store product in sealed containers when not in use

Key Principles

  • Coverage is protection

  • Continuity is critical

  • Prevention happens before ignition

ZUFF is most effective when applied proactively, not reactively

ZUFF FireBorder transforms wildfire defence from response to prevention
